The Best Investment Watches in 2022

We are now in the last month of Q1, and I feel like now is a great time to share with you my top watches that I am targeting to invest in for the 2022 calendar year.

Before we get into the list, a disclaimer:

Not all watches are created equal. It is important to ensure that you are always making yourself aware of the market, doing your due diligence, and ensuring you are up to date on all Watch Trading Academy strategies.

In 2021, Blue dials were the most popular watches to own.

One piece in my portfolio I absolutely love is the Audemars Piguet Perpetual Yellow Gold Blue Dial Royal Oak.

The rarity of the metal will always bring a premium over rose gold, and the perpetual movement is so rare it will always have a high dollar associated with it.

This particular watch is now sitting on the resale market at over $260k (and trending up) when just a year ago you could find one at around $160k-$170k.

For 2022, I think blue dials are fading out in favor of green, BUT yellow gold is going to make a comeback in 2022 which is why this particular blue dial is still a worthy play.

As I mentioned above, green is not just the color of money, but also the dial color for 2022 investment pieces.

Here are three of my favorite green dial watches that are going to be strong investments this year:

1) Rolex Olive Day-Date – currently up 200% over its MSRP, sitting on the resale market around $70k range for white gold and $90k for rose gold

2) Rolex John Mayer Green Dial Yellow Gold Daytona – very RARE and potentially going to be discounted. Currently can be found on the resale market for between $110-125k

3) Patek Philippe 5968G White Gold Aquanaut, currently up 250% of its MSRP, currently found on the retail market for $230k+

And another watch I feel I have to mention is the Richard Mille RM 055 Bubba Watson in white ceramic.

This is a watch that boasts a $150k MSRP but is currently trading for nearly $400k over its MSRP, which is absolutely insane.

Now you may ask, the value is already so high up, how could it possibly be worth any more?

The answer, in short, is the color.

The white ceramic casing is one of the rarest casing options for Richard Mille.

These are just five of the watches that I have in my collection that I believe will be great investment pieces in 2022.

There are many other watches I own, enjoy, and love that will still make a lot of money regardless if I hold them a day, a month, or a year.
